PERSONAL DAILY COMMITMENT

Internet Run

Internet Run is my personal daily initiative connecting physical discipline with everyday support for an open, inclusive Internet: I run 1 kilometre every day and contribute USD $1 to the Internet Society Foundation each day.

Run With Me or Support the Cause

You are welcome to join me—whether by running 1 kilometre alongside me in person or from wherever you are, or by making a direct contribution to support an open, globally connected Internet.

THE PRACTICE

How the Daily Commitment Works

Both parts of Internet Run are intentionally modest so they can be sustained every day without interruption—linking personal action on the ground with steady support for the global Internet.

Step 01 — Movement

1 Kilometre on the Road

Whether I am working in Kampala, coordinating field projects in rural districts, or travelling for regional convenings, I complete at least 1 kilometre on foot each day. The distance is accessible enough to fit into any schedule, yet deliberate enough to require showing up daily.

Step 02 — Contribution

USD $1 to the Internet Society Foundation

Each daily run is paired with a personal USD $1 contribution to the Internet Society Foundation. Tying the contribution directly to the run anchors my giving in a concrete daily action—reinforcing that lasting impact is built through small, consistent steps.

WHY IT MATTERS

From Professional Practice to Personal Habit

My work is guided by a simple belief: technology only matters when it lifts people up.

Across my projects in rural broadband mapping, digital literacy delivery, Digital Public Infrastructure, and Universal Acceptance, I see every day how meaningful Internet access expands opportunity for underserved communities.

Internet Run extends that conviction beyond my consulting assignments into my personal life—answering the need for digital inclusion not only through policy and project management, but also through a daily personal commitment.

ECOSYSTEM CONNECTION

My Connection to the Internet Society Community

I choose to contribute my daily USD $1 to the Internet Society Foundation because of my active involvement in the wider Internet Society community and my respect for its work supporting an open, globally connected, secure, and trustworthy Internet:

  • WSIS+20 Community Explainers Working Group Lead (Sep 2025 – Present): Leading Team B in co-creating plain-language resources on the multistakeholder Internet governance model (case study).
  • Programme Manager, Internet Society Education SIG (Aug 2024 – Sep 2025): Managed global digital education webinars, partnerships, and research on equitable access to online learning (case study).
  • Internet Society Mid-Career Fellow (2024): Authored policy research on Digital Equity for the Marginalised focusing on inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure (case study).
  • Internet Society Uganda Chapter: Active member and former Chapter Vice President (2020–2022).
