Among the facets of Digital Literacy is Media Literacy. Glad to have trained the Finn Church Aid team in Moyo on how to capture, clean, curate, caption, and commission photos and Videos in order to tell better stories for their DRDIP projects. (Development Response to Development Impacts Project)
DRDIP objective is to improve access to basic social services, expand economic opportunities & enhance environmental management in the refugee hosting districts.
The Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project (DRDIP) is intended to address expanded development needs by the refugee hosting districts in the country. The project addresses the unmet social, economic and environmental needs identified in the local host communities in fifteen districts of Arua, Terego, Madi-Okollo, Koboko, Yumbe, Moyo, Obongi and Adjumani in West Nile sub-region, Lamwo in Acholi sub-region, Kiryandongo Kikuube and Hoima in Bunyoro sub-region and Isingiro, Kamwenge and Kyegegwa in South West sub-region.
The 1 day bootcamp kicked off by assessing the level of knowledge of the participants in Digital
storytelling through smart phone photography and videography. The participants were taken through a
process of Capture, Curate, Caption, Clean and Commision videos and photos. The participants
were asked what things they usually capture and here is a list of them.
